GENERATION OF A NEW URBAN QUARTER
Urban renewal providing 580 new-build residential apartments
This exciting development was undertaken by Berkeley Homes in a couple of stages, creating and promoting the development of extensive new infrastructure. Caspian Wharf was the driving force which led to the full scale regeneration of a new, primarily residential, mixed-use quarter in this area of Tower Hamlets.

A series of internal courtyards provide peaceful landscaped communal gardens and children’s play areas, whilst the stepped approach to massing generated extensive roof terraces for the upper floor units.
The innovative use of a gantry system assimilated within the aesthetic, engendered generous balcony spaces across the facades, accentuated articulation and encouraged vertical planting.

Inspiring regeneration along the full length of Violet Road and extending out onto Yeo Street & Glaucus Street, significant development continues to invigorate this new quarter. The creation of Langdon Park DLR Station followed the first phase of construction at Caspian Wharf as part of the master plan inspired by investment from leading residential developers into the area.
