Bishopsgate House

Brownfield Residential Redevelopment

LOCATION:

527 Staines Road, London TW4

PROJECT:

Brownfield residential redevelopment comprising 67 new residential dwellings with undercroft car parking

CLIENT:

Semilarhus Developments Ltd

STATUS:

Completed

The unprecedented scale attained through the successful application on this brownfield site demonstrates the intensification in densities promoted by Hounslow Planning. Whilst Staines Road is pocketed by larger scale buildings there is little development this far outside Hounslow Town Centre at this magnitude.

Bishopsgate House exemplifies the emerging central strategy to transform disused and contaminated areas located beyond the main town centre into vibrant and sustainable urban spaces.

At 4-5 storeys in height, incorporating a raised podium courtyard, undercroft car parking and extensive landscaping, Bishopsgate House provides 67 residential dwelling, including 35% affordable homes.

This level of redevelopment follows several failed applications on the site by previous consultants. We were appointed to realise the Client’s vision for a high quality, high density residential development.

Carefully rebalancing spaces and building masses it was possible to retain the desired level of accommodation through a meticulous and thoughtful approach, where every aspect was carefully considered and purposefully integrated. Aesthetically subtle the design aesthetic is devised to complement the existing urban fabric and sit comfortably with its neighbours.
